Healin Foods' Desserts Analyzed with Artificial Intelligence

Istanbul-based Healin Foods attracted attention in the international academic community when its dessert menu was the subject of an artificial intelligence-supported study. The research titled “Deep Learning Algorithm for Dessert Recognition and Nutritional Evaluation” was published in a prestigious academic journal with Q3 index.

The study, conducted by academics from Istanbul Gedik University and Gebze Technical University, analyzed 23 different desserts on the Healin Foodsun menu with artificial intelligence algorithms. Within the scope of the research, GoogleNet and ResNet-50 deep learning models were trained. The ResNet-50 model excelled in recognizing desserts with an accuracy rate of 99.8%.

The images and nutritional values of the desserts were analyzed in detail using the BeBIS nutritional information system. The software developed as a result of the study allows restaurant customers to make healthier choices by providing gastronomic and nutritional information of desserts. At the same time, this system aims to provide a competitive advantage for restaurants and food manufacturers with fast product analysis.

This innovative work is an important example of the meeting of gastronomy and artificial intelligence, and has placed Healin Foods at the center of academic attention worldwide.
